The purple Mangosteen is an edible fruit. This fruit native is an island nation of south-east Asia and Thailand. It is the national fruit of Thailand. The skin is Purple color and the white fleshy pulp, segmented with seeds. The scientific name of the fruit is Garcinia mangotana. This fruit is also called mangustan (Hindi) Kokkam (Marathi), Katampi (Malayalam) Hannu (Kannada) and Kao (Bengali).  It contains several nutrients and antioxidants.

This fruit taste is like lychee, peach, strawberry and pineapple.
